The international photographic exhibition — Olympics 2008. The Flavour of our Victories! — is devoted to the highlights of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The show, set up in support of the achievements of Olympic athletes, includes some 200 works, made during the 29th Olympic Games in China by the leading Reuters photographers, as well as by the well-known Russian sports photographers Sergey Kivrin and Andrey Golovanov.

The personages of these shots are sportsmen, members of the training staff and the fans of the Beijing Olympics. The curators took into consideration the specific character of the reportage genre: the possibility of −147;stopping time-148; and recording the most emotional moments and details of the events, which escape the eye of the audience.

-Recently Russian athletes have given us the opportunity to experience a whole series of happy moments and positive emotions, giving rise to patriotic feelings and a sense of pride for their homeland among millions of Russians. This exhibition is important, because it means additional support for our Olympic team, which showed excellent results during the Beijing games; it is also significant for the education of young athletes −151; Russia’s hope for future Olympics. Forming a stable motivation for success and the desire to repeat distinguished athletic victories, achieved by their fellow countrymen, can serve as a guarantee of Russia’s future triumphs in sports-, −151; noted Leonid Tiagachev, president of the Russian Olympic Committee.

-Mobile Telesystems OJSC shares the ideals of the Olympic movement and for the last ten years is actively involved in sponsoring large-scale sports programs. The Olympic games are one of those rare events which truly unite nations; this is why OJSC is happy to contribute to the development of sports and to the Olympic movement. We are glad that the exhibition −132;Olympics 2008. The Flavour of our Victories!-147; will give us a chance to present to the population of six CIS countries, where more than ninety million people use OJSC, a kaleidoscope of lively emotions and memorable moments of the Beijing Olympics-, −151; said Mikhail Shamolin, president of the Mobile Telesystems OJSC. −147;Photography is a unique art form, which is capable of capturing emotional moments and fleeting details of events, which escape the attention of the audience. Victory in sports is often determined by such subtle nuances, millimeters and split seconds. Our exhibition, which includes the works of the stars of Russian and foreign photography, will help the public appreciate the beauty and the grandeur of such moments, that shape the career of an athlete; to experience the most outstanding and breathtaking minutes of the triumph of sporting will and spirit, to really sense the taste of athletic victories-148;, −151; said Olga Sviblova, director of the Moscow House of Photography.

OJSC is the general partner of the Olympic Committee of Russia and the official mobile operator of the Russian team at the 29th Beijing Olympic Games of 2008. Observing the partnership agreement, OJSC is involved in various programs regarding the preparation for the Olympics, and provides the members of the national team with a wide range of mobile services.
