«Flashlights accompanied me everywhere almost every day of the past four years. All this time the professionals who worked with me were the great photographers from the Presidential Press Service, Russian and western agencies and media outlets. Thanks to their efforts, it is possible to recall now and for years ahead the circumstances, emotions and feelings that accompanied the decisions that form the essence of the President’s work.

When I look at these photographs, I think back to the events that made up the years of my presidency. They include the hard decision to start the operation on forcing Georgia to peace, the difficult recovery from the economic crisis, the joy of success at the end of tough international negotiations that lasted for many months. The tragic events that happened in our country. The pleasure of communicating with different people I have worked, argued and disagreed with, the people I needed to listen to and convince. These four years consisted of a multitude of different events that in one way or another touched every family and every person in our country. Let’s remember the days that have become history».
