For the press

The AES+F group’s project analyses the phenomenon of a virtual world whose rapid expansion engenders eschatological prophecies and new illusions.
‘Last Riot’ creates a model of cyberspace, a fantasy landscape of the new Paradise where time is suspended and past epochs exist alongside the future, where creation coexists with disintegration. AES+F populate this with glamorous androgynous teenagers who wage a revolution or war against themselves, in which there is no distinction between victim and perpetrator, male or female, good or evil, between predestination and lack of predestination. Like the Flying Dutchman doomed to eternal wanderings, the heroes of this cyber-epic are doomed to eternal conflict. This is a battle without blood or pain, a contact without contact. Each generation creates its own versions of artistic apocalypse in music, painting and other art forms. The Last Riot is a post-apocalyptic vision, the latest in this line.
