Russia. 20th century in photographs 1918–1940

An intensive quest for new ways in the development of humanity is impossible without the understanding and conceptualization of the lessons offered by the past. The history of Russia’s 20th century has been written and rewritten a hundred times. Nevertheless photography still provides a most authentic and reliable material evidence of the past epoch. The restoration of the photographic chronicle of the Russian state during the last century is necessary to identify ourselves with our own past, and to acquire a basic structure of values looking forward into the future. The goal of this edition is to offer an opportunity for an unbiased look upon the development of Russian history, an opportunity to emotionally experience it.
