When you’re in the village you find yourself thinking about the complexities of this space. At various times it has been occupied by peasants, collective farm workers and weekend holiday makers. Each change left its mark, and the village was filled with new meanings. In delving in to the various layers of this past I am trying to catch the mood, whether it be a relaxed, collective, or superstitious. By mixing all of these states I aim to create a portrait of this place and to make friends with it.
